The Glow

Weeks after the Arc sealed. The Cruciform Sword stands in the OCS chapel in Madrid, glowing faintly blue every night at matins. Beatrice lives in a stone cottage above Granada, where Yasmine once saw her kiss Ava. She trains no one. She prays and the prayer does not return. In Reya's realm — a white plain under a second sun — Ava wakes. The Halo is quiet. Reya stands over her, not as a god but as a cartographer. "I saved you to use you," she says. Ava's hands are light with Divinium.

The Weapon

Reya's plan is simple and terrible. She cannot cross to Earth without a vessel. She will send Ava back changed — the Halo rewritten to broadcast Reya's frequency, turning prayer itself into a tether. Ava will walk through the Arc as a Trojan saint. The OCS will rejoice. The Tarasks will follow the signal and finish Adriel's war under a new master. Ava does not remember Beatrice. She remembers being chosen. She remembers being left. On Earth, Lilith flickers between rooftops in Rome, half in and half out of phase, hearing both choirs. She comes to the OCS chapel and says: "She is coming back wrong. I can smell Reya on the wind."

The Search

Mother Superion sends Camila and Yasmine to find Beatrice. They find her mending a fishing net. "She is alive," Camila says. Beatrice answers: "I left because God did not answer. If she is alive, why does the sword still glow?" Camila places Ava's old training rosary in her palm — the wooden beads Ava once threw away. Beatrice holds them and for the first time hears nothing and feels everything. Lilith teleports them to the Arc site in the Alps. The rift is thin, a scar of light. On the other side, Ava steps through. Her eyes are Reya's pale blue. The Halo hums a different hymn.

The Unmaking

Ava raises her hand and the OCS sisters fall to their knees, not in worship but in weight — Reya's gravity. Beatrice does not kneel. She walks forward. "You taught me to block a blade," she says, "you never taught me to block you." She kisses Ava — not as a kiss to wake a princess, but as a breaker of a spell. She whispers the words Ava once whispered to her in the Alps after a sparring session: You are not the Halo. You are Ava. The Halo sputters. For a moment two frequencies war in Ava's chest — Reya's command and Beatrice's memory. Lilith, from the edge, drives the Divinium dagger she pulled from Michael's chest into the ground, cracking the tether. The Tarasks howling on the threshold lose their map.

The Choice

Reya roars through Ava's mouth in a language older than Latin. Ava looks at Beatrice and chooses. She tears the Halo from her own back — a motion Shannon never could — and drives it into the Arc's heart. Light floods the valley. The Arc implodes. Reya is severed, cast back to her white plain alone. Ava collapses, Halo-less, human, bleeding but breathing. The Glow in the chapel goes dark, then warm. In Granada, the sword no longer calls. Beatrice carries Ava down the mountain. Lilith watches them go, then turns toward the horizon where the Great War was supposed to begin and finds no army. "No master," she says to no one, and smiles for the first time since the wound. The Order will not need a Halo to be an order.
